Corby said that while the resignation came as a surprise, Plummer had expressed frustration earlier in the year over the appointment of a trustee liaison when the mayor was on vacation.“This is a hard-working board that is committed and passionate," Corby said.
“I’ll continue to do work on the civics side, but it will be to a lesser extent.”According to Corby, Plummer had served approximately two years of her four-year term when her resignation announcement was made.
He said that the resignation of a board member isn’t uncommon at this level of government, and that a different village board member had resigned earlier due to a medical issue.
"There was tremendous deliberation and it just became abundantly clear to me that I’m not effective on the board."Plummer, who grew up in the village but moved away for 35 years before making a return, said that she likes to be engaged within the community and that isn't going to change.“I’m proud of the work I’ve been able to accomplish in the last couple of years, and I’m going to miss it.
I’m going to miss the connection with residents and being the problem solver,” Plummer said.
